Local historians said the main residents of pre-1950 Palm Desert courier were Cahuilla Indian farmers of the now extinct San Cayetano tribe. After World War II, Cliff Henderson, a Los Angeles developer, began to develop the desert into his dream community. The first residential development occurred in 1943 in connection with an Army maintenance camp in the area. That site was later developed into "El Paseo", an upscale shopping district not unlike Rodeo Drive. In 1948, the Palm Desert Corporation began to develop real estate, and in 1951 the area was given its present name. You can rely on CVM when choosing a Palm Desert courier. -- |

Thermal began as a railroad camp in 1910 for employees of the Union Pacific Railroad, followed by Mecca (originally called Walters) in 1915 and Arabia in between, each had about 1,000 residents. Then came the establishment of permanent dwellings on Avenue 56 (renamed Airport Boulevard) in the 1930s. Agricultural development from canal irrigation made the area thrive in greenery by the 1950s, followed by the former Camp Young U.S. Naval Air station converted into Thermal Airport by 1965. In the early 1990s, a six-lane highway (the new State Route 86) was constructed as an earlier transportation route. There's a proposal for a major commercial aviation airport known as the Jackie Cochran Regional Airport in the same site. For the best Thermal messenger service contact CVM. ---------------------- |

Salton City is in Imperial County, California. The population was 978 at the 2000 census making it the 11th largest settlement in the Imperial Valley and largest Imperial County development on the Salton coast. Although maps at first view show Salton City to be a sizable community, in fact very few of the surveyed streets and roads were ever developed. The town was developed in the 1950s and established in 1958 primarily by M. Penn Phillips and the Holly Sugar Corporation as a resort community on the Salton Sea, yet very little development was achieved due to its isolation and lack of local employment opportunities. In the 1970s, most of the buildings constructed along the shoreline were abandoned due to rising sea elevation In the 1980s, the Imperial Irrigation District took proactive water conservation measures to reduce the flow of unused canal water into the Salton Sea. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, as salinity and pollution levels in the Salton Sea increased, the attraction of theSlaton Sea as a recreational destination diminished. If you need a Salton City delivery service, CVM can get there quickly. --------------------------- |
